Chelsea, Chelsea

Before we made the best decision ever to invest in a subway pass we walked from our hotel to Chelsea..not too far but in those minus temperatures it felt like I was walking through the North Pole! On the plus we got to see the sights and it was soo nice! I was really keen to go to Chelsea Markets but they were 100 times better/nicer than what I expected!! I am a huge sucker for cute little stores and Chelsea markets had a lottt of those!

The shop in the pictures above (I can't remember the name!) was literally THE cutest! soo many nice biscuits and sweets to choose from. I'm surprised I didn't walk out of there with hundreds of bags in my arms!

After tiring our self out from a huuuge walk and shopping we went to a traditional American Diner which is something we were all dying to do while we were in NYC! A few of us had meatball sliders and they were delicious!! Although they were no were near as good as the oreo milkshake! I'm getting cravings just writing about it!

We went to the 9/11 memorial after Chelsea and it's literally heart wrenching. When I went before quite a few years back the memorial was still under construction so it was literally just a building site so it was completely different this time. It really makes you realise how much it impacted America and how it made them a family.

All of the lights

Times Square is THE best!!

You can do literally anything you want there. It was exactly how I remembered it and looks exactly the same as the pictures online show. No disappointments at all.

We went shopping, ate, saw a comedy show and saw Cinderella on Broadway at a discount price! What more could we want?!

When we were walking through Times Square on our last night me and Lucy made a plan of how to get to New York to live for at LEAST a year and I am going to do it for sure!!!

The Serena Van Der Woodson moment

Being nerdy Gossip Girl fans it was a definite must to visit Grand Central Station! Last time I was there we were going to eat at the world famous Oyster Bar but it was closed as it was the 4th of July but this time it had actually closed down?! SO surprised!

Once again the quality of these images aren't the greatest because of the lighting in there but it is one of the most beautiful buildings I've seen. I'm quite ashamed at how rubbish my camera was in there!

It's definitely got to be one of the buildings that's been in the most films around the world?! Me and Lucy decided to act out the Gossip Girl moment when Serena arrives at Grand Central and is spotted...except we didn't look quite as glamorous in our thermals and wooly hats!!

After we regained body heat in there we went to Times Square for the first time during the trip and it was obviously just as amazing as I remembered it. We explored all the tourist sights as usual and then had THE BEST meal at Hard Rock Cafe with the girls! Knocked the socks off the one in Manchester.

NY Public Library

The image quality is not the greatest with these pictures because the lighting was really funny in there! same with Grand Central Station! I got the best I could though...

As soon as I walked into New York Public Library I recognised it instantly from the Sex and the City movie when Carrie Bradshaw was meant to be getting married there! I'm such a nerd! It's such a beautiful and impressive building and I WISH I could get married there!!

Every room we went in made me even more impressed. It literally took my breathe away.

The city that never sleeps

Being back in Nottingham is slightly depressing after waking up every morning for 5 days in New York City!

It was literally one of the best weeks of my life! I couldn't really remember it from the last time I went when I was 10 so it was a perrrrfect opportunity to revisit the city that I am determined to live in one day very, very soon.

I'm going to do separate posts for some of the best things we did during our week but I just thought I'd put these pictures on here! My favourites are definitely the ones from Brooklyn bridge. Who doesn't love a selfie?

New York, New York

I CAN'T BELIEVE WE GO TO NYC ON MONDAY!

I am so beyond excited to be back in the Big Apple ahh! I've only ever been in summer so it's going to be so unbelievably fun seeing it in the winter! Even though the news has been reporting 14 inches of snow in New York...

SO much I want to do! Ice skating in central park, shopping literally EVERYWHERE and generally just prancing round Times Square (although I'll  be surprised if I see the naked cowboy this time!)

It's always been my dream to go back to New York and live there one day so this is definitely the beginning..not long to go!
